Atif Choudhury believes business can be a constructive, effective way to bring prosperity and fairness to an unjust situation.

When travelling in Palestine, he was struck by the plight of olive farmers struggling to make a living under crippling restrictions. In response Atif co-founded Zaytoun in 2004 – a company established to create a UK market for the olives, dates and other products of Palestinian farmers living and working behind the Israeli ‘security wall’.

At Meaning, Atif shared with us his insight into the power of positive business, showing us how trade, and the opportunity to do business fairly can bring empowerment and hope in even the most challenging of circumstances.
