Clare Patey

At Meaning 2016 artist and curator Clare Patey shares her belief in the transformative power of empathy to enrich our personal lives, our societies, to shift mindsets and affect global issues.

Clare brought with her the A Mile in My Shoes – Empathy Museum’s interactive art piece – inviting us to put on the shoes of another person and to listen to their story as we – literally – walk in their shoes. What is it like to have spent years in prison, or to be a child growing up in Tehran, or to have rediscovered love in your eighties?
